Slow Look
Take a slow look at Nickolas Muray’s “Untitled (Still Life with Coffee)” on view in “Touchstones of the Twentieth Century: A History of Photography at the University of Notre Dame.” We’ll use tools of mindfulness meditation as a way to approach and understand the photograph. This program is open to anyone and registration is required via the link.

Museum Offices and Galleries Closed for Christmas and New Year’s Breaks
The Snite Museum of Art galleries and staff offices will be closed from Saturday, Dec. 19, through Tuesday, Jan. 5, in participation with the campus-wide holiday break.
Hesburgh Library Building Hours and Access through Feb. 2
Currently through Tuesday, Feb. 2, Hesburgh Library will be open daily, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the building will be accessible during open hours using your ND ID card. Hesburgh Library will be closed on the following days: Dec. 24, 25, 26, 31 and Jan. 1.

Seminar: “Creating a World Free of Nuclear Weapons: Developing the Next Generation of Specialists & Activists of the Catholic Community”
This four-day, eight-session seminar is part of a larger project to revitalize and strengthen the voice of the Catholic community in the U.S. and beyond in the debate on nuclear nonproliferation and disarmament. The project aims to empower a new generation of Catholics to contribute to wider efforts to further reduce and ultimately eliminate nuclear weapons. Registration is required.

Notre Dame Children’s Choir Mid-Year Auditions
NDCC is accepting new singers in our six choirs for children ages 0-17 for a free after-school program, supporting social and emotional well-being through singing instruction and music education with sacred choral music. Currently, rehearsals are online for most of our choirs with strict protocols for our in-person rehearsals for high school level and liturgical choir.

Basilica Implements Reservation System for Christmas Masses
Given the current health and safety guidelines, the Basilica will have an adjusted Christmas Mass schedule and will implement a reservation request system to accommodate as many people as possible in a safe manner. A reservation request form will open at 9 a.m., Monday, Dec. 14, and close at noon, Wednesday, Dec. 16.
Sacred Places of Notre Dame, a Daily Advent Journey
Follow along as we prepare for the coming of Christ. Special guests this week include Lou Nanni, Rev. Austin Collins, C.S.C., Professor Rick Garnett, Digger Phelps and three ND students sharing stories about their sacred places on campus like Notre Dame Ave., the chapel in Johnson Family Hall and the football practice fields.

Grief affects us in many ways and we all grieve differently.
