The Office of Information Technologies (OIT) will be transitioning computer hardware support to the Notre Dame Bookstore, Hammes Technology Hub, located on the 2nd floor of the ND Bookstore effective July 1st, 2019. The Notre Dame Bookstore will continue to provide faculty, staff and students, computer hardware support for university-owned machines as well as personally owned machines. Specifically, the ND Bookstore will provide warranty hardware repair for Lenovo, Apple, and Dell products.
Technicians will be available 9am-5pm M-F to diagnose machines upon check-in. Machines can be dropped off at the Hammes Hub on the 2nd floor of the ND Bookstore. Machines can also be checked in during normal business hours of 8am-9pm Mon-Sat & 9am-7pm on Sundays at the Hammes Hub as well. If machines are checked in outside of normal business hours of 9am-5pm M-F a technician will contact the customer once a diagnosis has been made.
Services provided and the cost of services are listed below:
- Diagnostic fee: $50
- Hardware repair: $75
- Backup and re-install OS (OperatingSystem and updates): $75
- Screen Repair (unless covered by AppleCare+): $75
- Data Recovery: up tp 200GB $40 over 200 GB: $75
- Data Backup/ Migration to new computer: $40
- Virus/Malware Removal: $75 up to $125 (Depending on severity)
- Labor: $75 an hour.
