A section of St. Joseph Drive north of the Radiation Laboratory will be closed for one week starting Monday, July 31, to allow for improvements to the water main in the general area of Library Quad. During this time, vehicle traffic to the Radiation Lab, Riley Hall, O’Shaughnessy Hall, Decio Hall and Malloy Hall will be accessible from Moose Krause Circle via St. Joseph Drive.
The water main project will increase the capacity of the water system in this area, including nearby buildings and the fire protection system.
The overall project will wrap up this fall, with the majority of the work done using a trenchless process to preserve as much of the current landscaping and surface features as possible.
Pedestrians should watch for signage regarding short-term closures throughout the project. Any interruptions in water service will be shared with those affected as work progresses.
