Danny Bloss, a cook in University Catering, carves into a block of ice to create a Golden Dome ice sculpture to be displayed in one of the dining halls Commencement Weekend. “I like to think the ice sculptures enhance the experience of visitors to Notre Dame.” He made three identical sculptures for Commencement events. Bloss is one of the best ice carvers in the country. The National Ice Carving Association named him the National Pro Division Champion in 2017.
