ND Alert is a comprehensive emergency notification system used to communicate with people on campus in the event of an emergency or impactful incident.

The system has the ability to engage email, desk phones, cellphones and text messaging as well as indoor and outdoor speakers and digital sign boards on campus. The layered communication approach ensures that if one means of communication falters, the message would still connect with the intended audience by one of the other methods. (Depending on the situation, certain communication channels may not be used .)

The Office of Campus Safety frequently tests ND Alert. The next test of the ND Alert system will take place next week at 12:20 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17. The test will engage all communication channels: email, desk phones, cellphones, text messaging, indoor and outdoor speakers and digital sign boards.

If you do not receive an email, text and call to your phone, please verify and/or amend your contact information at emergency.nd.edu. If you’re on campus during the test and do not hear the test over the public address system, please let us know by visiting ntrda.me/ndalert-issues or by contacting Campus Safety at 574-631-9007 or safety@nd.edu by Friday, Feb. 18.
