Sacred Art Visio Divina
Visio divina, or “sacred seeing,” is an ancient form of Christian prayer in which we allow our hearts and imaginations to prayerfully and meditatively enter into an image. Join in for guided sessions of visio divina on the first Tuesday of every month with sacred art in the Mary, Queen of Families Chapel or in the galleries.

Marian Art Conversations
To celebrate the start of May, traditionally devoted to the Virgin Mary, attend a special program dedicated to celebrating works of art featuring Mary. This opportunity will offer a rich experience that combines art, conversation, and prayer for visitors to explore the deep spiritual and artistic representations of Mary throughout history.

Fischoff Soiree

Community Mural Celebration
Gather to celebrate the latest mural additions to the outfield wall at Southeast Neighborhood Park, featuring the contributions of the Latino community in South Bend. Enjoy the art and hear the stories from generations of ballplayers. Plus, there’s a free taco truck!

Artful Storytime
Designed to help children develop their visual and verbal literacy skills, Artful Storytime is a partnership with the St. Joseph County Public Library. Each session includes stories, songs, artwork explorations, art-making, and more. They say that April showers bring May flowers. The group will search the galleries for spring blooms.

BFA/BA Honors Thesis Exhibition
View the annual exhibition of the culminating thesis projects created by students graduating with a BFA or BA Honors degree from the Department of Art, Art History, and Design. The show runs through Sunday, May 18.

The Departed (2006)
The Departed moves Infernal Affairs from Hong Kong to Boston, becoming the only adapted film in this series to win Best Picture. A tense cat and mouse story unfolds as a cop infiltrates the mob, and a mob mole rises within the state police. $7 adults, $6 faculty/staff, $5 seniors (65+), $4 non-ND students/children, free for ND, SMC, HC, and IUSB students.

Call for Applicants: Dialogue Opportunity with Israeli and Palestinian Students
Calling students of all class levels and all majors to apply for Middle Meets. This student-led program puts Israeli, Palestinian, and American college students in conversation about complex topics of justice, memory, and reconciliation. Lecture—“‘La Forma universal di questo nodo’ (Par. 33.91): Le strutture dell’oltremondo dantesco (‘The universal form of this knot’ (Par. 33.91): The Structures of Dante’s Afterlife)
Though long seen as a harmonious and orderly work, recent scholars argue that Dante’s Commedia is filled with tensions and unresolved conflicts in its vision of the afterlife. Zygmunt Barański, professor emeritus at Cambridge and Notre Dame, explores these complexities in Dante’s structure and theology.

Safety, Parking, and Traffic
Temporary Parking Changes Due to Student Move-Out
Parking Services and Residential Life ask campus community members to note the following temporary changes to parking lots due to student move-out. Beginning at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, the Rugby and Dorr Road lots, as well as part of the Walsh Architecture Lot, will close. All vehicles remaining in the above lots by noon Wednesday, May 7, will be impounded at your expense. The Fischer Faculty/Staff Lot will close at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8. All reserved spaces will be open for parking.
All lots will reopen for regular parking at noon Saturday, May 10. (Please see the Parking Services website for detailed pictures.) Students, please visit the Residential Life website for more detailed information.
Bike Roundup and Summer Bike Tags
Faculty, staff, and students, take your bike or push scooter with you when leaving campus for the summer. If you will use a bike/scooter on campus this summer, go to Hammes Mowbray Hall to pick up a red tag to place on the handlebars. Otherwise, your bike/scooter will be removed in NDPD’s bike roundup starting Tuesday, May 27. Unregistered bikes/scooters that are removed are held for only 30 days.

Graduating Students: Move Your Files Before They’re Deleted
Once you graduate, any content you created as a student will be deleted in July unless you move it to a personal account. This includes email, too. Also, transfer any important files or folders (research, projects, etc.), you shared with others to a Google shared drive or Box group account to ensure others continue to have access to them.

Move-out is coming, so get ready to donate, recycle, and sort your materials responsibly. Donation bins are now available in residence halls. As you pack, please check labels on bins—the donation, recycling, and landfill containers are all separate. Last year, Notre Dame students donated more than 88,400 pounds.
