Spotlight Exhibit: A Medieval Franciscan Manuscript from the Netherlands
Visit Rare Books & Special Collections to see a remarkable manuscript showing the collaboration between a Franciscan scribe and a Franciscan illuminator from different religious houses in the southern Netherlands during the 15th century to produce a magnificent volume.

UPAA Print Show
During its annual symposium, hosted this year by Senior University Photographer Matt Cashore, view the work of members of the University Photographers’ Association of America (UPAA). The unique metal prints were made possible by UPAA partner Saal Digital. They document the variety of environments represented in the UPAA, including urban and rural campuses from all corners of the country and internationally. The smallest campus represented in the show is Bates College, a 1,600-enrollment college in Maine and the largest is the University of Wisconsin with more than 50,000 students.

Spotlight Exhibit: "New York City Surrealism and Texas Progressivism in the 1940s"
Visit Rare Books & Special Collections to see an exhibit highlighting two new acquisitions of limited runs of two American periodicals from the 1940s, New York’s “View” and “The Texas Spectator.” Each captures part of the zeitgeist of the 1940s — the avant-garde and surrealist art scene from 1940 through 1947 and Texas politics between 1945 and 1948. Call for Research Participants at the Memory, Aging and Cognition Lab

The Memory, Aging and Cognition Lab at Notre Dame is seeking volunteers for research on memory and the brain. To be eligible, you must be 30 to 80 years old, have learned English before age 5 and be in good health. Volunteers are compensated $15/hour. Public Lecture — “The Heavens on Earth: Visualizing the Universe, Popularizing Astronomy in Modern Times”
As part of the 15th Biennial History of Astronomy Workshop, Charlotte Bigg of CNRS, Centre Alexandre Koyré, Paris, will give a public lecture on the interrelated history of the technologies for investigating the universe and of the techniques for popularizing astronomy. Demonstration for Mobius in Canvas for STEM Disciplines
Learn how Mobius, an assessment engine from DigitalEd, can be used for effective STEM assessments. Arthur Lim, professor of the practice in mathematics, will explain how he uses Mobius for calculus readiness and placement. Reps from DigitalEd (makers of Mobius) will also join to demonstrate other uses of Mobius for STEM. Register for Zoom access.

Safety, Parking and Traffic

Angela Boulevard to Close Tuesday
Beginning Tuesday, June 20, Angela Boulevard from Stanfield to Pokagon streets will be closed for water and sewer connection work. Detour routes will be Notre Dame Avenue and Michigan Street (US 31/933) via North Shore Drive/Howard Street. The anticipated reopening date is Friday, June 23, weather permitting. Review the attached map for details.
