Performance

DeBartolo Performing Arts Center’s 2021-22 Season Announced
The DeBartolo Performing Arts Center announced its 2021-22 Presenting Series artists. Many previously canceled artists have been rescheduled, including Matthew Morrison, Yo-Yo Ma and The Boston Pops on Tour, among others. Season ticket sales begin Monday, July 26, and single tickets will be available for purchase beginning Monday, Aug. 23. Students, faculty and staff receive discounted tickets with a Notre Dame account.

Gallery Tour: Three on a Theme
Take some time out from your busy week to go on a virtual tour of three works from the Snite Museum’s vast collections. For this 30-minute tour, explore visual representations of writers and consider what we can learn about them through the images.

Fall 2021 University Concert Band
Each fall, the ND Band program hosts a community concert band of faculty, staff, students and other community members. All instrumentalists are invited to play, whether you play regularly or haven’t picked up your instrument in years! Please email Justin.McManus@nd.edu with any questions. Register by Friday, Aug. 13.

Faith and Service

Food Drivapalooza
Join the Finance Division in giving back to the community and help stock the Food Bank of Northern Indiana. Drive up and drop off nonperishable food donations. The Finance Leadership Team will be there to collect the donations, hand out ice cream vouchers and say thank you! Review the flyer for detailed information and needed items.

Intro to Pickleball Workshop
Learn how to play one of the fastest-growing sports in the U.S. Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and pingpong. This workshop will teach you the basic skills and rules of the game so you can begin playing this summer. Click here for more info and to register.

Safety, Parking and Traffic

Parking Lot Construction at Columba Hall
The University, in cooperation with the Congregation of Holy Cross, will begin construction this week on a small parking lot south of Columba Hall, a residence for Holy Cross brothers. The lot, which will accommodate 13 vehicles, will replace on-street parking at the south end of St. Mary’s Road across the street from the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes.
The parking lot will be completed and open by early September.


Tech Upgrades and Service Interruptions

IT Maintenance Begins on July 31
Beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, July 31, through 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, Office of Information Technologies systems engineers will perform a variety of planned maintenance activities and upgrades that affects many IT services.

Google Begins Transition to Combine Drive File Stream and Backup and Sync
Google has started a transition to merge Backup and Sync and Drive File Stream into one application. This change will affect anyone who uses Backup and Sync on their computer. If you use Backup and Sync, you will see pop-up messages from Google to complete this transition on your computer. You must take action before Friday, Oct. 1, to continue to use this app.

Hesburgh Libraries Service Updates
Hold Request Pickup: Beginning Monday, Aug. 2, users will once again be able to pick up hold request materials at the Hesburgh Library Circulation Desk during business hours. All existing materials on the Hold Shelf near the north entrance will be moved to the Circulation Desk at 3 p.m. Friday, July 30.
Document Delivery: DocDel service to faculty departments will resume on Wednesday, Aug. 4.
