“Double Indemnity” (1944)
Summer Film School opens by studying the cinematic elements of film noir via an undisputed example — “Double Indemnity.” The irresistible tale of passion, lies and murder was essential to the genre’s development, which is about far more than filming at night and cool shadows. Learn more at the 6:30 p.m. lecture and stay afterward for discussion. $7 adults, $6 ND faculty/staff, $5 seniors, $4 students.
Wednesday, July 12; 7 to 9 p.m. in the Browning Cinema, DeBartolo Performing Arts Center
