Film: “The Last Waltz” (1978)
Dip into the long Thanksgiving weekend with one of the most beloved concert (and Thanksgiving) films ever. Seventeen years after joining forces as the backing band for rockabilly cult hero Ronnie Hawkins, Canadian roots rockers The Band called it quits with a lavish farewell show at San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom on Thanksgiving 1976. $7 adults, $6 faculty/staff, $5 seniors, $4 students.

Closures, Limited Hours and Cancellations

Alert: Hesburgh Library Thanksgiving Hours and Finals Hours
Hesburgh Library will have limited hours during Thanksgiving break. It will close at 11 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, and will remain closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 23 and 24. It will reopen Saturday, Nov. 25, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. The library will begin finals hours (open 24/7) at 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, through 11 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15.

Online Advent Women’s Retreat for Notre Dame Staff
Notre Dame staff are invited to join an online retreat throughout the season of Advent. Campus Ministry will cover the cost for up to 50 women to participate on a first-come, first-served basis. Mass to Celebrate Brother Columba
Commemorate the 100th anniversary of the death of Servant of God Brother Columba O’Neill, C.S.C. Brother Columba was a Holy Cross brother who lived and worked at Notre Dame for more than 40 years. His cause for canonization was opened in 2022.

Talk — “Climate Change and Social-Ecological Resilience: Nature and People in Flux”
Sister Damien Marie Savio’s talk will draw upon social-ecological resilience theory and the social teachings of the Church, especially as articulated in Pope Francis’ encyclical “Laudato Si’” and his recent apostolic exhortation “Laudate Deum,” as a framework for addressing the social-ecological impacts of climate change.

Safety, Parking and Traffic

Fall and Winter Road Closures Planned to Accommodate Campus Projects
Road closures related to the ongoing construction of the second McCourtney Hall research building and a new geothermal plant will mean changes for those navigating the east side of campus.
Leahy Drive from Bulla Road to Library Circle, near the Early Childhood Development Center, will be closed starting Monday, Nov. 20, through Saturday, Dec. 23. This will allow crews to connect utilities to serve the new research building. During this time, Library Circle can be accessed from the south via Courtney Lane. Please review the article for an aerial map and more details for other construction and road closures in the near future (Monday, Nov. 27, and January).

NDSID — Thanksgiving Dinner
Join the Notre Dame Staff of International Descent and Indigenous faculty and staff to share a wonderful Thanksgiving meal and camaraderie. Ticket price is $25.12 per person. Canvas Tip: Individuals Can Disable the Panorama Widget in Canvas
The Panorama accessibility widget is useful for those who require voice or other accommodations when accessing coursework, but can be in the way for those who don’t need it. Individual users can disable Panorama for their account in the widget’s Preferences tab.
