Open Studio
Join in for Open Studio, a monthly drop-in program designed to help you connect with your creative side. This program encourages participants to engage—in guided or freestyle ways—with materials inspired by the themes, techniques, and media of a featured work of art. This summer, the focus will be on Earth Kid (Boy) by Yinka Shonibare.

The Met Opera Live in HD: Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Rossini)
Rossini’s sparkling comedy returns in Bartlett Sher’s lively production. Mezzo Aigul Akhmetshina stars as Rosina, with Jack Swanson making his Met debut as Count Almaviva. Andrey Zhilikhovsky is Figaro, with Peter Kálmán and Alexander Vinogradov rounding out the cast. Giacomo Sagripanti conducts.
$23 adults, $16 children/students.

Workshop: Faculty Teaching Well with Technology Semester Start-Up
Prepare for the new semester with conversations that will inspire your teaching. The day will cover a range of topics, from Canvas efficiency sessions to the new Library Reserves tool, Respondus Lockdown Browser pilot, and more. This workshop allows you to choose the sessions you want to attend. Food will be provided. Register by Friday, May 30.

Application Open for the Fred Freeman Scholarship (link will go live June 2)
Thinking about going back to school or earning a certification? Apply now for the Fred Freeman Staff Scholarship. Eligible full-time, non-exempt staff can receive up to $2,000 per semester for educational expenses. You can submit an application Monday, June 2, through Monday, June 30. If you are a faculty or staff member who is currently caring for an aging parent, a spouse or relative, or a child with special needs, please consider joining this group, which meets monthly throughout the academic year. This is the final meeting of the spring semester.

Book Talk—Fighting Irish Football: Photographs from the Archives
Authors Charles Lamb and Elizabeth Hogan will explore the history and tradition of Notre Dame football through photography during this book talk. Safety, Parking, and Traffic

Moose Krause Circle Closure North of the Joyce Center
To accommodate the construction of the new geothermal plant on the east side of campus, a portion of Moose Krause Circle will be closed starting Monday, June 2, through Sunday, July 13. Access to facilities west of the Joyce Center on Moose Krause Circle will be via St. Joseph Drive from the north. The geothermal plant, when completed, will distribute heating to buildings in the southeast region of campus and cooling throughout all of campus. Review the map.

Wilson Drive Construction Continues

A section of Bulla Road continues to be closed through Friday, May 30. Access to Wilson Drive and Leahy Drive will remain open; however, drivers should expect congestion at the intersection.

Bike Roundup and Summer Bike Tags
Faculty and staff, take your bike or push scooter with you if you’re leaving campus for the summer. If you will use a bike/scooter on campus this summer, go to Hammes Mowbray Hall to pick up a red tag to place on the handlebars. Otherwise, your bike/scooter will be removed in NDPD’s bike roundup starting Tuesday, May 27. Faculty and staff do not need to pick up a tag if their bike is already registered with NDPD.

Legends Euchre Tournament
Join this round robin-style euchre tournament. Enjoy Bell’s beer samplings (for 21 years and older) before and during the tournament. Prizes for the first-place team. Register as a team of two or individually. Register on OpenTable by scrolling down to “Experiences” and clicking the “reserve” button. Limited to 30 teams. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. $5/person with valid student ID, $7/person non-students.

Tech Tips, Tools, and IT Maintenance

Important Update: Transitioning to SafetyStratus for Safety Data Sheets
On Saturday, May 31, the University will transition from MSDS Online to a new platform called SafetyStratus to view Safety Data Sheets (SDS). To access the Safety Data Sheets in SafetyStratus, go to the SafetyStratus SDS site or click on the tile on the Risk Management website. If you have the MSDS Online page bookmarked, you should be redirected to the SafetyStratus site.
