Artful Storytime
The St. Joseph County Public Library and the Snite Museum of Art are partnering on this program designed to help children develop their visual and verbal literacy skills. Each Artful Storytime will include stories, songs, artwork explorations, artmaking and more. This program is best for families with children age 4 to 6.

“RRR” (2022)
“RRR” is an exhilarating spectacle mythologizing two real-life freedom fighters who helped lead India’s fight for independence from the British Raj. With a powerful message, staggeringly choreographed action sequences and an all-timer (or three) of a musical number, “RRR” is sheer big-screen joy from start to finish. Faculty/Staff: $6. Met Opera: Live in HD presents “Lohengrin” (Wagner)
“Lohengrin” returns to the Met after an absence of 17 years in François Girard’s atmospheric staging. Virtuous duchess Elsa (played by sopranos Tamara Wilson and Elena Stikhina), falsely accused of murder, goes head-to-head with the sorceress Ortrud (soprano Christine Goerke) and her power-hungry husband, Telramund (bass-baritone Evgeny Nikitin). SBYSO Gala Concert
South Bend Youth Symphony Orchestras’ gala concert will feature music from Howard Shore’s score to “Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” with the Penn High School choir and ND Children’s Choir. They will also perform Kevin Puts’ Violin Concerto, featuring violinist Matt Albert, and “Suite” from “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.” Faculty/Staff: $19. Students: $15.

Alastair Presents: “Seeking Haydn”
South Bend Symphony Orchestra Music Director Alastair Willis guides the audience to the world of Austria in the 18th century. As Haydn’s musical assistant at the Esterhazy Palace, explore (through Willis’ unique personal experience) what it was like living and working at the palace with Joseph Haydn for the Esterhazy family. Nominations are being accepted through Wednesday, March 15, for the Rev. Edmund P. Joyce, C.S.C., Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching, the Dockweiler Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Advising and several other annual awards. BIPH 2023 Summer Graduate Fellowships
The Berthiaume Institute is accepting applications for summer graduate research fellowships. This year, the institute will award up to 10 fellowships of $10,000 each, to cover the period of May 15 through Aug. 15. The application deadline is 11:59 p.m. Friday, March 17. Hesburgh Library Spring Break Building Hours
Hesburgh Library will have limited hours during spring break, from Sunday, March 12, through Saturday, March 18. Regular hours will resume Sunday, March 19.
- Sunday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Saturday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

- Sunday, March 19, opens at 9 a.m. and returns to normal hours.

Alert: Hesburgh Library West Entrance and Second-Floor Southwest Study Area Closed Over Spring Break
Hesburgh Library’s west entrance will be closed Monday through Friday, March 13-17. There will be no in-person access to Rare Books and Special Collections, but they will be available online. Celebration of Women Dinner
Aim to recognize the valuable contributions of women in various fields and to honor their achievements. Notre Dame Learning Visiting Speaker Series — “Teaching Distracted Minds: Old Challenges, New Contexts”
Faculty frequently express concerns about the distractions and disengagement of students, but the real focus should be on how to help students achieve attention. These sessions draw upon scholarship from history, neuroscience and education to argue that distractions are endemic to the human condition and can’t be walled out of the physical classroom or online course.
