Compton Parking Lot Temporarily Closed
Due to the University Enterprises and Events staff summer picnic, Compton Family Ice Arena and the Compton Parking Lot will be closed starting at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, and will reopen at 6 a.m. Thursday.

Application Open for Community Impact Grants
The Center for Social Concerns awards Community Impact Grants to Notre Dame faculty, students, staff and community partners for community-engaged research, teaching and learning that enact the values of Catholic social tradition. Grant recipients have investigated topics including sustainable housing, immigration and vaccines. Learn more online and apply by Monday, Sept. 13.

ND Essentials for Managing People
If you supervise others at ND, you’ll need to know some basic University tools and resources essential for your role. One of the most important aspects of your professional development is being able to identify and capitalize on your top strengths in the workplace. Participants must complete the Clifton StrengthsFinder self-assessment and read about their top five talents and strengths prior to the workshop. Safety, Parking and Traffic

ND Alert Test
The Office of Campus Safety will conduct a test of the ND Alert emergency notification system at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 22. This test will engage email, telephone (office), indoor and outdoor speakers and digital sign boards on campus. Cell phones and text messages will not be included in this test, but will be included in the fall when the ND Alert system is tested again. Review the details here.


Tech Upgrades and Service Interruptions

Scheduled Maintenance on July 19 for DeBartolo Performing Arts Center Website
At 7 a.m. Monday, July 19, the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center’s website (performingarts.nd.edu) will be down for routine maintenance for approximately four hours. You won’t be able to access any DPAC events or purchase tickets online during that time. Tickets will be available for purchase over the phone beginning at 10 a.m. and in person at noon.

Sakai Tip: New Grader in Assignments Tool
Sakai’s Assignment tool now features a new grading panel. This panel will display alongside the student submission so you can enter feedback and grades while reading the student’s text, without the need to click between tabs. 

Training on FedEx International Shipping
FedEx Services will offer training to University employees to discuss best practices when shipping internationally, including how to complete a commercial invoice and how to submit electronic export information when required. Training will be conducted by webinar (GoToMeeting). Registration is required.
