“Taste of Cherry” (1997)
Kiarostami’s film is an emotionally complex meditation on life and death. Middle-aged Mr. Badii drives through the hilly outskirts of Tehran, searching for someone to rescue or bury him. Along the way, he picks up three passengers, all from different walks of life, eliciting different views on mortality and individual choice. Students: free. Faculty/Staff: $6.

Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran (Robert De Niro) is a truck driver who starts working for the Bufalino (Joe Pesci) crime family. After berating his faithful clerk Bob Cratchit for trying to bring Christmas cheer, Scrooge encounters the ghost of his late business partner Jacob Marley, who warns that three spirits will visit him this night. The ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future take Scrooge on a journey aiming to transform his bitter and avaricious ways. $1 tickets.

Lecture: “Bearing All Kinds of Witness to War: Finding Violence in Revolutionary Ireland”
Anne Dolan, of Trinity College Dublin, focuses her research on the nature and legacy of the Irish civil war, with a particular interest in the consequences of violence at both political and personal levels. In this talk, she will consider aspects of witness testimony and ask: To whom do we choose to listen when we write the history of violence in revolutionary Ireland?

The co-director of the Center for Universal Education at the Brookings Institution, Emiliana Vegas, will discuss some of the key drivers behind the education reforms in Chile. If any individual grade cells are blank, those missing scores are being excused. When you’re done entering all semester grades, apply a zero to any blank cells.
