Merrimans’ Playhouse @ the Snite Museum: Gustavo Cortiñas Sextet

Spend a summer evening grooving to jazz in the Mary Loretto and Terrence J. Dillon Courtyard. The Gustavo Cortiñas Sextet includes Drew Hansen, Artie Black, Euán Edmonds, Joaquin Garcia, Kitt Lyles and Gustavo Cortiñas. Cortiñas returns to present “Desafio Candente,” a work of 14 original compositions. Seating is limited to the first 75 people.

Theater: “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”
Part of the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival 2021. Visit Shakespeare.nd.edu for dates and tickets.
Performances continue Aug. 17-29, in a physically distanced outdoor performance on Irish Green, outside of the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center. Mandated health and safety protocols will be observed for the duration of the festival.

Notre Dame Research is now accepting applications for its Faculty Research Support Program — Initiation Grant and the Faculty Research Support Program — Regular Grant. The deadline to apply for each program is 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25.

The University’s shred provider, Shred-it, in conjunction with the University Archives, is offering a free, secure and confidential document shredding event for Notre Dame faculty and staff. Bring your old bank statements, checks, copies of bills or other non-business-related confidential papers from home to be destroyed. Mental Health First Aid
(This workshop is for managers and supervisors.) Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training course that teaches participants about mental health and substance abuse issues. Learn about risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations and where to turn for help. Kylemore Book Club: “Trailblazers — Breaking Gender Boundaries”
The Kylemore Book Club focuses on the history, politics and culture of the west of Ireland through the lens of rugby. This week will delve into the women’s side of rugby in Ireland and abroad. Special guests include Connacht Rugby President Ann Heneghan and former U.S. player Phaidra Knight. Register online.

Safety, Parking and Traffic

Notre Dame Campus Shuttle Resumes
Beginning Monday, Aug. 16, the Notre Dame Shuttle service will resume. All shuttles will run every 10-15 minutes. Please follow this schedule for the fall semester.
The Bulla-Main route will operate Monday through Friday, 7 to 10 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.
The Bulla-Library-Snite route will operate Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Student Move-In Parking Lot Closures
The following parking lots will be closed Monday, Aug. 16, through Sunday, Aug. 22, for student move-in: Fischer Fac/Staff, Rugby, the west side of Walsh Architecture and the west side of Dorr. The lots listed above will reopen on the first day of classes, Monday, Aug. 23. For any questions, please contact Thomas Kauble at tkauble@nd.edu or 631-2602.

Remick Family Hall — Sorin Court Closure
Sorin Court will be closed Monday through Saturday, Aug. 23-28, to install new curbs, asphalt and parking adjacent to Remick Family Hall. Access to the Main Building Parking Lot will remain open. Deliveries to the Main Building should use the St. Liam Parking Lot during this time.
