Campus gate technology team receives Presidential Team Irish Award

The campus gate technology team is a cross-functional team of staff who designed and implemented an enhanced parking and campus access experience for faculty and staff.

This team, made up of staff members from Parking Services, the Campus Card Office, the Office of Information Technologies, Facilities, Utilities, Procurement and the Office of Budget and Planning, delivered this project on time and on budget through a multi-year implementation period that began prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The result was technology that allows drive-up, hands-free access to secure areas on campus, improving the efficiency of campus parking and new employee onboarding. It has also minimized delays in accessing parking lots and eliminated the need for annual parking pass updates.
