Pizza Pi Pizzeria is the second new restaurant on campus in 2019. Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh opened in April.
The soft opening of Pizza Pi is this Wednesday, Aug. 21, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., in the former Reckers on the south side of South Dining Hall. The menu features craft pizzas, salads, baked pastas, breadsticks, smoothies, and desserts. Some of the franchise’s most popular pies include Zesty BBQ Chicken, Spicy Buffalo, Spicy Southwestern, Butcher’s Favorite (meats), Farmer’s Favorite (veggies), and Perfect Pesto. Macaroni and cheese options include BBQ Bacon Cheddar and Italian. On the weekends, beer and wine will be served to those over 21. Meanwhile, the decor of the former Reckers space has been completely updated with a new kitchen, fixtures and furniture. (Don't miss Pizza Pi's GRAND OPENING on FRIDAY, AUG. 30 with free samples, yard games and music from 4 to 7 p.m.)

Oversized booths will accommodate groups of customers.
There are large conversation spaces in the restaurant for patrons to visit with each other.
Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh offers scratch-made, preservative-free menu options including pitas, gyros, salads, flatbread and more. Each recipe is crafted using fresh, authentic ingredients, which is why every dish is so flavorful. The franchise is located in the Hesburgh Center for International Studies — the perfect location for students, faculty and staff who are looking for a quick, wholesome, healthy bite to eat either on-the-go or while relaxing in the cafe. You build your meal as you walk through the line. Pick your entree (pita, wrap, plate or salad). Choose your protein (chicken, falafel, steak, or gyros). Fill it or sauce it with hummus, veggies, tabbouleh salad or rice. Then complete it with falafel, baklava, chips or fries.
