Biography: Dr. Thea Gallagher is a nationally recognized psychologist and anxiety specialist. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at NYU Langone Health, where she also serves as digital mental health, outcomes and wellness coordinator. Gallagher specializes in prolonged exposure therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), exposure and response prevention for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and cognitive-behavioral treatments for other mental health illnesses such as social anxiety, panic disorder, specific phobias, generalized anxiety, eating disorders, self-harm and depression. Over the course of her career, Gallagher has presented at several national and international conferences, led dozens of cognitive behavioral therapy trainings and published numerous research papers, review articles and book chapters. She is regularly featured in national media outlets and hosts a mental health-focused podcast, "Mind in View."

Speaker: Dr. Melissa Sundermann, lifestyle medicine physician at Canyon Ranch

Talking Points: Brain health from a lifestyle medicine perspective, how to promote a healthy brain naturally through diet, nature and movement

Biography: Dr. Melissa Sundermann is a plant-based physician double board certified in both internal medicine and lifestyle medicine and has been practicing medicine for more than 20 years. She has been featured in several lifestyle medicine articles and podcasts as well as an invited speaker for health/medical national conferences. She strongly believes in fostering a partnership with her patients and helping to guide them toward a healing pathway through self-care using lifestyle medicine principles. Her seven pillars of health include a whole-food/plant-based diet, daily movement, restorative sleep, avoidance of risky behaviors (such as tobacco, excessive alcohol, drug use), stress management, social connection and daily exposure to nature and fresh air.
