Speaker: Dr. Raquel Harrison, board-certified lifestyle medicine physician and attending physician in emergency medicine at Yale New Haven Health

Talking points: Harrison will dive into each of the six pillars of lifestyle medicine and explain how and why they are foundational to our long-term health and well-being.

Biography: Harrison is board-certified in lifestyle medicine and emergency medicine, and she currently works at Yale New Haven Health as an emergency medicine physician. She completed her residency training in emergency medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital and served as chief resident before starting with Yale School of Medicine. During her time at Yale, Harrison served as an assistant program director for the emergency medicine residency. To transition from academic emergency medicine, she sought to understand her own health with a new lens and became board certified in lifestyle medicine. Harrison is passionate about plant-based nutrition, movement and implementing the six pillars to improve overall quality of life and longevity.

Talking points: Food allergies vs. sensitivities, elimination diets, how the gut microbiome works, toxins and chemical contaminants in food.

Biography: Goel is an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. He practices general gastroenterology and internal medicine with a focus on nutrition and integrative health. He is frequently published in both peer-reviewed journals and press and his writing and work have appeared on networks and publications such as CNN, The New York Times, Time Magazine, Financial Times and the BBC. He was named a New Leader by the Carnegie Council and a World Economic Forum Global Shaper. In 2015, Goel was awarded a Cannes Lion and recognized by the United Nations for his work in human rights advocacy.
