Professor emeritus of history Rev. Marvin O’Connell died on Friday, Aug. 19. A wake service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 23 at Kaniewski Funeral Home on Bendix Drive in South Bend, from 4 to 6 p.m., with a Rosary at 5 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24 in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart.
