The Office of Student Enrichment will host FLI Week in November to celebrate students who identify as first generation, low income (FLI). Faculty and staff members who are among the first generation in their families to attend college are invited to participate in a unique way by wearing a T-shirt on Monday, Nov. 4, that reads “I am First Gen.” By wearing the T-shirts, faculty and staff can demonstrate there’s a community of higher education professionals who have lived the unique experience of attending college as students who are first generation, low income. It’s a community of support the students may not know exists on campus. If this is you, sign up for a free T-shirt.
