Starting Saturday, July 1, University faculty and staff will have access to enhanced emotional well-being resources as well as expanded education benefits.

The Carebridge Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will be offered at no cost to benefit-eligible colleagues. Carebridge provides employees and their families with 24/7 confidential access to mental health counseling, work-life services, certified life coaching and behavioral change tools through various pathways of care — in-person, telehealth, phone, chat and self-directed digital platforms.

Full-time faculty and staff and their immediate family members will be eligible for up to six counseling sessions with a licensed counselor per concern, as well as unlimited telephonic resources and referrals for a wide variety of work-life concerns. Carebridge also provides six telehealth sessions with a life coach.

“We carefully considered the best partner to deliver benefits that we believe will make a positive difference in our employees’ lives,” said Denise Murphy, Assistant Vice President for Total Rewards. “We know well-being is about much more than just physical health, and Carebridge provides evidence-based preventive and proactive emotional well-being resources.”

Carebridge benefits are confidential; names and other identifying information is not reported back to the University. Carebridge will replace the current EAP vendor, Lifeworks. Employees can continue to contact Lifeworks for services through June 30.

Additionally, as part of the University’s commitment to staff development, the following enhancements to staff education benefits will take effect beginning July 1:

  • For non-Notre Dame tuition reimbursement, the reimbursement amount will increase to $5,250 (previously $3,000)
    • The benefit will continue to be tracked on a “benefit year” basis, which begins in July and continues through June of the following year.
    • Taxability of tuition reimbursement benefits is determined on a calendar year basis (Jan. 1 through Dec. 31). Tuition reimbursement benefits of $5,250 and less received in a calendar year will continue to be non-taxable.
  • For Notre Dame tuition remission, the benefit is being enhanced to 100 percent tuition remission on an undergraduate course (previously 90 percent).
    • All other aspects of the benefit will be unchanged.
