Notre Dame Police and Fire Celebrate 2026 Annual Awards

On July 28, 2026, members of the Notre Dame Police and Fire departments gathered at Morris Park Country Club to celebrate the extraordinary bravery, dedication, and selflessness of campus first responders, civilian staff, and community partners.

The annual ceremony recognizes those who go above and beyond to protect Our Lady’s University, from split-second lifesaving actions in high-stress emergencies to quiet, daily moments of mentorship across campus.

Emceed by Angelo Di Carlo of Sports Michiana, the evening brought together safety personnel and university leaders to celebrate a year of dedicated service and deep community partnerships. Key leaders including Mike Seamon, Vice President for University Events, Operations and Safety, and Tim Sexton, Associate Vice President of Public Affairs, highlighted the vital connection between campus safety and the broader Notre Dame family.

Associate Vice President for Campus Safety and Chief of Police Keri Kei Shibata reflected on the quiet dedication that drives the Police and Fire teams every single day:

"The annual awards are about celebrating major, historic accomplishments... but I also want to shine a light on the vast amount of incredible work that goes unseen, the daily, quiet acts of vigilance and kindness that happen in the middle of the night. It's the small anomalies you notice that keep all our systems working to keep our people safe," said Chief Shibata.
