Notre Dame Fencing captured a second consecutive 2022 NCAA Fencing National Championship on their home strips on Sunday afternoon at the Joyce Center. With the win, the program earned its 12th national title.

This is the first time Notre Dame has hosted the NCAA Fencing Championship on campus since 1992. The event lasted four days and was held in both the North Dome of the Joyce Center and Purcell Pavilion. The University pulled off the hosting honors thanks to these groups within Athletics and elsewhere: Facilities, Event and Game Management, Fighting Irish Media, Parking, Ticketing, Marketing, Equipment, the Office of Information Technologies, OIT, Sports Medicine and Strength and Conditioning. Athletics' Operation Hustle, a talent sharing program started during the pandemic, ensured the recruitment of staff volunteers who ran scores, helped with setup, and ensured the event ran smoothly.
