Mark Gunty, undergraduate analytics program director in the Office of Institutional Research, Innovation and Strategy, was awarded the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities President’s Distinguished Service Award, in part due to his work on the association’s Catholic Identity and Mission Assessment project, and more broadly his dedication to Catholic higher education.

“He loves the Church, he loves Catholic higher education, and he loves what it is that we could offer to the world to make it a better place,” said Alicia R. Córdoba, president of Aquinas College.

“He’s just a wonderful guy ... a fabulous human being, and he brings that to his work as well,” said James Trainer, associate vice president for Villanova University.

Rebecca Sawyer, ACCU vice president, added, “He is incredibly dedicated, incredibly kind. He’s intelligent, and he’s really giving of his time and his talents, and for that, we are incredibly grateful.”

Gunty shared, “My professional educational mission is to make Catholic colleges and universities the best that they can be. And I do it obviously mostly here at Notre Dame, because that’s my full-time job, but I have tried to extend that to what help I can give to ACCU as well.”
