The Office of Human Resources encountered a challenge this fall: how to offer the annual health and well-being fair, Irish Health, during the pandemic.
Typically, Irish Health, which is held during the Open Enrollment period, welcomes more than 3,000 faculty and staff over two days. Those who attend have the opportunity to learn more about the University's comprehensive benefits, get their health screenings as well as get massages, free food and the opportunity to win prizes.
This year will be a little different. Instead of hosting the event in person, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to learn about Notre Dame’s benefits and meet with vendors in a virtual format. Vendors will host live chats and presentations Tuesday, Oct. 20, and Wednesday, Oct. 21, and faculty and staff will be able to access virtual vendor booths through Friday, Nov. 6.
The virtual platform will offer employees:
- More accessibility - Faculty and staff will be able to log on as time permits, any time of the day or night, for the entire Open Enrollment period.
- More family participation - Spouses and other family members are welcome to attend the virtual health fair using the employee’s netID email address.
- More information - All benefit program vendors and campus partners will be available to share more information about what they offer.
It wouldn’t be Irish Health without the opportunity to win prizes. Employees who visit at least five of our virtual booths will be entered to win a cash prize of $750, $500 or $250.
The Virtual Irish Health Event link will go live Monday, Oct. 20, and will remain open through Friday, Nov. 6.
