Gilberto Cárdenas, professor emeritus of sociology and Latino studies in the College of Arts and Letters, died Sunday, July 26.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, TX 78745. A remembrance ceremony will take place from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, July 31, at Harrell Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 1, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 126 W. Oltorf St., Austin, TX 78704.
