On Sunday, May 17, on what would have been Commencement Day, the University hosted a virtual Conferral of Degrees for the Class of 2020. Watch it or read about it.

Under the direction of the Office of the Provost, teams from Notre Dame Studios, Marketing Communications (Multimedia and Print), Strategic Content, Media Relations and University Enterprises and Events provided the memorable and historic experience that included a live feed from the Martin Media Center, GIFs for social media, an Alma Mater video, social media posts and memory boxes sent to graduates' homes containing a candle from the Grotto and a graduation stole (see photo gallery below).

Much of the work was accomplished by faculty and staff working remotely, received by a class spread around the world, demonstrating Father John’s affirmation that "Notre Dame is still a community, even when we are far apart."

The Class of 2020 will celebrate commencement in person over Memorial Day Weekend 2020.
