Micki Kidder, vice president for University enterprises and events, sees this Friday’s Liverpool vs. BVB preseason match as a unique opportunity for employee families to experience Notre Dame through the lens of loved ones who work here.

“Our division’s focus during events, like this one, is community,” she says.

Faculty and staff are an integral part of the Notre Dame community. Therefore, so are their families.

“Many people who work at Notre Dame are engaged with the place. They are committed to the University’s mission and see their work as an extension of it.”

Many faculty and staff brought family and friends to the other “never before” events held at Notre Dame over the past several months.

Kidder notes that it takes staff from across Notre Dame to pull off such large-scale events, and University officers are grateful to those who will work the match. She invites those not working this one to take part as a spectator.

“Bring your mom, dad, significant other, friends, spouse, kids, cousins, nieces, nephews here to experience Notre Dame in a unique fashion — one that celebrates and highlights family and a deep sense of community.”

In an email to faculty and staff on Monday, Kidder and Mike Seamon, vice president for campus safety and operations, shared information as to what to expect this week with the teams on campus, ending the letter with this sentiment: "Notre Dame is honored and excited to host this event, and we hope many of you will participate."
