The Notre Dame Alumni Association and FaithND will host their final campus-wide prayer service of 2021 in honor of All Souls’ Day from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, at the Grotto. All are welcome to attend and help offer prayers.

Each year, the Alumni Association fields approximately 30,000 prayer requests, which staff offer daily at the Grotto on behalf of those who cannot make it to campus. As part of this effort, the association also hosts quarterly prayer services open to the campus community, celebrating Back to School, All Souls’ Day, Respect for Life and Mother’s Day. The All Souls’ Day service will begin with a Rosary and conclude with the gathered group reading and praying more than 5,000 prayer submissions. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at the Sacred Heart Crypt.

“The Grotto is a place that is beloved by so many, and we often hear how much people miss it when they are away from campus,” said Dan Allen ’07, ’11 M.Div., associate director of spirituality and service at the Alumni Association. “We feel tremendously blessed when our alumni, parents and friends entrust us with their prayer intentions to be offered on their behalf at this most sacred site, and we are honored to share this outreach periodically with our campus community.”

Sponsored by the Alumni Association, FaithND works to nurture the spiritual lives of Notre Dame’s community of alumni, parents and friends. Its Daily Gospel Reflection email reaches more than 100,000 subscribers and features the day’s gospel reading, a reflection from a member of the Notre Dame family and a prayer. FaithND also produces the “Everyday Holiness” podcast, now in its sixth season, as well as seasonal offerings, such as Sacred Places of Notre Dame in celebration of Advent, and Songs of Notre Dame: Lenten Offering.
