Juneteenth celebration through food

University Enterprises and Events invites you to a special Juneteenth event featuring a barbecue and guest speakers Verge “Brother Sage” Gilliam, African American griot and community educator at Providing Options, and Scott Barton, assistant professor of Africana studies. They will discuss the historical significance of Juneteenth, its relevance to today’s civil rights movements, and the symbolic role of food in its observance. Let’s come together from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Legends Patio/Clubside to honor this important milestone in American history.
